Why we went RED.

So many Agents have asked us why go to the trouble and all the expense of shooting RED when ‘joe punter’ can’t tell the difference?

We reckon Joe Punter probably knows a helluva lot more about super-high-def/3D and Blu Ray than they’re given credit for.

They’re the ones driving the demand for all those wide screen TVs and home cinemas that get sold each week. In their hundreds and thousands.

A new age of connected TV is coming - it is a place where poorly-shot video on prosumer cameras just won’t cut it. 

Connected TV is all those big wide screen, high-def TV sets that go walking out of Harvey Norman each week plugged into the Internet.

It is an environment where TV shows, movies and ads are subject to death by remote.

It is the same environment where your property will be presented.

We wemt RED because it is our mission statement to be No 1 for property & lifestyle video world-wide.

That’s why we went RED.

Our decision to move towards this technology has already resulted in us lifting the bar for quality internally.

It has had a knock-on effect across-the-board - across all the CREWs.

Understanding how the camera works; the work flow - and the storage - and developing solutions around this is future-proofing our service.

The RED Epic shoots what is called 5K - about five times the resolution of High Definition video.

It is a 'RAW' file, which means we have control over most aspects at a post production stage.

The camera can also shoot at speeds of up to 300 frames a second.
