Platinum’s four L’s of Film Making
Light - you need to control it and pack it.
Location - the place you’re going to shoot has to tie in with the L approach.
Lenses - without a serious set of fast primes, you’re restricted.
Look - the style, feel and genre you’re going after.
- Luck - you make your own. Through preparation.
For this piece, we want to talk about THE LOOK.
Which is probably two part.
(a) What we’re going to shoot and (b) How we’re going to shoot it. You can forget about us revealing the later.
This is show business and how we shoot is a competitive edge.
Sharing what we shoot can only help push the creativity of real estate marketing higher.
Where do our ideas come from?
When we do a signature film, we always, always, always look for inspiration from the home.
For 15 Beechwood Close in Stretton, on Brisbane’s South side, the creative for the film came from the home’s name PALAZZO (palace) and the use of the Medusa head throughout - on the glazed, glass sliding doors so prevalent throughout the property.
The same symbol also brands Versace.
There are two parts to the myth of Medusa.
Part 2 is the most popular: From Wikipedia.
In Greek mythology Medusa (Greek: ΜÎδουσα (Médousa), "guardian, protectress")[1] was a Gorgon, a chthonic monster, and a daughter of Phorcys and Ceto.[2] The author Hyginus, (Fabulae, 151) interposes a generation and gives Medusa another chthonic pair as parents.[3] Gazing directly upon her would turn onlookers to stone.
She was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who thereafter used her head as a weapon[4] until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical antiquity the image of the head of Medusa appeared in the evil-averting device known as the Gorgoneion.
But prior to Athena turning Medusa into a monster, she was one of the most beautiful creatures on earth.
Her sin was only wanting to see the sun.
We all decided to go with the Medusa prior to being turned to stone.
Enter. International fashion model Ellie Gonsalves, from Brisbane, who added a 50’s feel to her hair and wardrobe.
Ellie was an ABSOLUTE DREAM to work with. The kind'a person who works with a CREW to make the magic happen.
Palazzo MEDUSA was shot in approximately seven hours on location and includes a few of the new super-wide shots coming out of a rig we’ve nicknamed ‘The Beast’.
It was a great shoot. And another signature piece for PlatinumHD Propvid AUS - NZ - CAN - USA as we strive to achieve our objective of being the No 1 property and lifestyle online video production network. Worldwide.
