  • What is Vidgrid?
  • Vidgrid is a digital asset management system. PlatinumHDs own intergrated solution for ordering, approving and sharing your digital marketing content on the web. Vidgrid has a sophisticated search engine allowing anyone to search and find videos with ease. (top)


  • Do I need to register to use Vidgrid?
  • No, anyone can search and view videos from displayed in Vidgrid. However, you must be a registered user to take full advantage of the system, including online ordering and approvals, statistical reporting and control over content.(top)






  • I forgot my password what can I do?
  • Not to worry, we can help you out. Click the retrieve password button on the login diologue box and you will be directed on how to proceed. A temporary password will be emailed to you. (top)












  • How much does a video cost?
  • Anywhere from $150 upwards. Costs vary depending on the volume of work, the time required on location to do the job properly, the type of property (a block of land may only involve five minutes on location while a resort can take a few hours, a few days or a few weeks) and the level of production involved. Anything from sound on location/photography/creative script writing/aerials/cranes/additional lighting/casting/actors are all available and can be finalised in pre production meetings prior to the production date.   • Can I order online?
  • Yes you can, this is an added advantage of being a PlatinumHD (Propvid Queensland) registered user. (top)


  • How much notice do I need to give?
  • The more the better. Ideally 72hrs but we can work on tight deadlines provided we have a booking free at your required time. Best to get in early, give us plenty of notice. This will also allow you to properly prepare for your shoot. (top)




  • What if I book the wrong time?
  • No problem, all bookings through Vidgrid will be confirmed by us to make sure we can fit you in to the requested time. If you need to cahnge a booking time after your booking has been confirmed you can contact your local producer and arrange another time. Remember there is a cancellation fee if you do this less than 2 hours from the confirmed time. (top)


  • How long does it take to make my video?
  • You should recieve your video for approval within 24hrs of the shoot time (applies to 30sec and 60sec videos only) . If you request edits it can take longer but we do prioritise edit requests to make your turn around as quick as possible. (top)


  • How do I know when my video is ready?
  • Well thats another benifit of being an approved platinumHD (propvid Queensland ) user. Once your video is ready you will be notified via email that your video is awaiting approval. You can then login to Vidgrid and view and approve your video. (top)




  • How do I update my account details
  • With ease. Just login to vidgrid and click on the change my password link under the tools section on the right of the page. You will be asked to put in your old email then type a new one and confirm it. (top)


  • How do I cancel a booking?
  • Simply phone or email your local producer and we will re schedule you at our next available time. Remeber there is a cancelation fee if the job is cancelled within 2 hours prior to the shoot. (top)


  • Is there a cancellation fee?
  • Yes there is, you will be charged a $110 late cancellation fee if the job is cancelled with 2 hours prior to the shoot commencing. (top)


  • How do I get billed?
  • For property clients we work on a strict 7 day billing cycle unless other arrangements have been made. For general production work or anything other than propvids we do require a deposit of 25% to engage, %50 to begin production and the remainder on approval. (top)






  • What happens if it rains?
  • Not to worry our directors carry umbrellas, no seriously they do, but if theres thunder and lightining and things are looking really bad we will call and postpone the shoot to a later date. (top)


  • How do I prepare for my video?
  • By knowing the property and surrounding area inside out. We suggest researching an area if you are unfamiliar with it, that way you will be able to appear more relaxed on camera and fill the allocated time with the most relevant information about the property and surrounds. (top)


  • What if my vendors are home?
  • We prefer to work with only the agent or talent on location. It allows us to work more quickly and will allow the agent to present without the added pressure of an audience assesing there performance, resulting in a much better presentation. (top)


  • How big are your crews?
  • Very small. We run 1 man crews for all our smaller jobs anything upto a Propvid 60. Propvid 120s and above we send out a 2 man crew. Crew size for all other productions may vary from 1 up to as many as it takes to get the job done. (top)


  • Who owns the footage?
  • The vendor pays for the video and therefor owns the footage. This is true for all productions footage with the exception of helicopter footage. Platinumhd reserves the right to maintain ownership of all helicopter footage. This is because we do not charge for a directors time while in a helicopter, you will only be charged for the cost of hiring the helicopter. (top)


  • How does the search engine work?
  • You can search on anything thats in our system. The vidgrid search engine is a "smart" search engine, it will give you a list of possible matches for anything you search on. On top of this its a way to find videos produced by a particular agent or company all within one simple easy to navigate interface. (top)


  • What can I search on?
  • You can search on anything videos in our dtabase. That includes lifestyle videos, property videos, and anything weve made along the way. Its also a useful way to find a group of videos or a "channel". For instance a search on "Tom Collingwod" would return all the videos that the user Tom Collingwood has ever had made. (top)

  • How can I see the stats on my videos?
  • Another benefit of being a Platinum HD (Propvid Queensland) user is you have full access to statistical reporting on videos. You can see how many people have been watching your videos on our site.(top)


  • Does Vidgrid have channels?
  • Vidgrid has the ability to group certain videos with other videos and have them all display together. Hers an example . As a vidgrid user by default your user account is a channel, people can search your username in Vidgrid and have all the videos associated with that user returned to them. This may be useful if you are using the Vidgrid to show new clients your collection of videos produced by Platinum HD (Propvid Queensland). (top)










  • What’s a pod cast?
  • Podcasts are a great way to distribute your digital assets over popular mobile devices and media players. We create a feed for every client and upload all videos to itunes once they are finished and live. For more information about how podcasting works click here (top)




  • How can I share my videos?
  • Every video presented in Vidgrid has a "Share This" link directly underneath the video. You can easily share our content on all your favourite portals, blogs and social networking sites like facebook, twitter and Wordpress (top)










  • What areas do you service?
  • We have six Cinematographers on the ground in SE Queensland, servicing the Sunshine Coast down to Tweed. We regularly send Crews to FNQ. Distance is not a problem. Interstate or international, providing we’re given 7 days notice. (top)

  • What video viewer does Vidgrid use?
  • You can view streaming videos on Vidgrid with Adobe Flash Player 9.0+. This plug-in is widely available across several platforms and browsers. If you don't have a Flash Player plug-in installed on your computer, you can download it from the Adobe website. You will be notified with a warning if you do not have the appropraite player installed. (top)


  • How can I play my videos at full screen?
  • To view a video on your full screen, please follow these steps:
    • 1. Navigate to the PlatinumHD homepage http://www.platinumhd.tv
    • 2. Click on the vidgrid menu item or search for a video that you want to watch using the search engine at the top of the page
    • 3. Click on the increase screen size button on the bottom right hand corner of the playback window.
    • 4. To return to the original size, press escape. (top)






  • Why can't I play this video in my browser?
  • To play videos through your browser on Vidgrid, your system must meet the following requirements:
    • 1. Windows 2000 or higher with latest updates installed or Mac OS X 10.3 or higher
    • 2. Firefox 2.1+, IE 7.0+, or Safari 2.0+
    • 3. A broadband connection with 500+ Kbps

    If you're having trouble watching streaming videos, please make sure that you have a plug-in installed on your computer. Most of the videos listed in our search results are flash videos and require the Abode Flash Player plug-in. You can install the Abode Flash plug-in by visiting http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html.


    If your browser isn't equipped with a plug-in that's capable of playing a certain type of video and you do not want to install the plug-in, you can download the video to watch it.

  • I receive an error message when trying to view a specific video. Why?
  • Sometimes videos get removed from the system because their streaming has expired. You can refresh your page but if you get the same error you can go back to the Vidgrid page and choose from an extensive range of videos. Alternatively you can search and find exactly what your after. Alternatively you can use the search and find another video. (top)


  • Why does the video stop playing?
  • Playback in Your Browser.

    If you're experiencing difficulty playing the entire video after clicking play, it may be due to your connection speed. Please note that a broadband connection with 500+ Kbps is required for continuous playback on Vidgrid Videos.

    If your connection speed is less than 500 Kbps, we suggest that you try playing videos on another system with a higher connection speed. Or, please wait until the entire video finishes buffering before playing the video.



  • The video continually stops and starts. How can I fix it?
  • If a video doesn't play continuously it may be due to your connection speed. A broadband connection with 500+ Kbps is required for continuous playback on Vidgrid.
  • It's also possible that your video download speed is slow or inconsistent. In this case, you can try pausing the video until the entire stream is downloaded, then play the video. (top)


  • Why do I see a QuickTime logo when I try to play videos?
  • If you see a QuickTime message in the playback window and are unable to play videos, make sure QuickTime isn't your default Flash player. To review and set your QuickTime preferences:
    • 1. Open QuickTime Player.
    • 2. Click "Edit" in the menu bar.
    • 3. Click "Preferences," then click "QuickTime Preferences."
    • 4. Click the "Browser" tab.
    • 5. Click "MIME Settings."
    • 6. In the "MIME Types" box, make sure the "Miscellaneous" option is unchecked.
    • 7. Click "OK," "Apply," and "OK."
    • 8. Restart your computer. (top)
