Getting Started
- What is PlatinumHD?
- PlatinumHD Propvid Australia is an online production network focused on the complimentary industries of real estate and lifestye tourism.
- Online Distribution
- This is a digital asset management system: our own integrated solution for ordering, approving, changing and sharing your digital marketing content on the web.
- How do I use this system
- You must be a registered user to take full advantage of the system, including online ordering and approvals, statistical reporting and control over content. Please contact one of our Producers and we'll get you started.
My Account
- I forgot my password what can I do?
- Click the retrieve password button on the login box and you will be directed on how to proceed. A temporary password will be emailed to you.
- How do I change my password
- This one is easy, log in and click on the "change password" link under the tools section in your account
- Privacy Policy
- PlatinumHD Propvid Australia will always respect your privacy and personal details. We will never share your personal data with any third party. We may send you the odd email from time to time but that's about it. Please see our Privacy Policy.
- Can I have more than 1 account
- Sorry, all our accounts are setup under a client master account and therefore users need to be unique to that client.
Common Questions About Ordering
- How much does a real estate video cost?
- From as little as $275, to $35,000 or more. Costs vary depending on the volume of work, the time required on location to do the job properly, the type of property (a block of land may only involve 15-20 minutes on location while an average home can take a few hours, an executive estate a few days, or a resort, a few weeks) and the level of production involved. Anything and everything from sound on location/photography/creative script writing/aerials/cranes/additional lighting/casting/actors/make-up etc are all available and can be finalized in pre-production meetings prior to the production date. We can also design a Propvid format for you.
- Online Ordering for real estate videos
- When you order online, the data you enter (either via scripts or by ticking boxes - indicating the number of bedrooms etc - and selecting from drop-down menus) goes straight into our system - and onto your site.
This not only speeds up the production process but also instantly tags your videos with what is called meta data, that can be found in online searches by Google etc. The more data you provide us with, in advance of a booking, the more informed our Producers are, and the better the job we can do. All online bookings are confirmed by our Producers with a telephone call and re-confirmed via email.
Once your approve your video, all the data you have entered is displayed along with the video and photographs.
- How much notice do I need to give?
- Ideally 48 to 72hrs. Regular Clients are given priority and preference, and we can work to much tighter deadlines - provided we have a booking free at your required time.
Best to get in early, and give us plenty of notice so we can film in the right light.
This will also allow you to properly prepare for your shoot.
- What if I make a mistake entering the job data?
- Unfortunately, if incorrect data is entered into the system, a script created and a Voice Over produced by our outside contractor, additional charges will apply to correct the mistake. Please take care in online ordering.
- Changing a booking (Weather)
- Weather patterns are something we monitor every day. And because our CREWs are local, we'll be on the same page as you when it comes to weather. Our Producers maintain regular contact with our Clients around bookings and juggle schedules accordingly. There is no cancellation fees providing jobs are re-scheduled at least two hours out from a Call Time. If a job is canceled at the last minute (within two hour's of an appointment time) a late fee of $110 will be applied.
- How long does it take to produce my film?
- You will receive an email notifying you your film is ready for viewing and approval within 24 to 48 hours of the shoot time (applies to 30, 60 and 90 sec videos only). If you request extensive edit changes, the turnaround time is another 24 hours. The best way to ensure a lightning fast turnaround is to view your film as soon as you get your notification and get back to us as fast as possible. This is because your job will still be 'open' on the editor's time-line, and the enthusiasm around it, fresh.
- How do I know when my video is ready?
- Once your video is ready you will be notified via email that your video is awaiting approval. You can then log in to our system and view and approve your video.
- What if I require an edit on a video?
- You're allowed 1 set of edit requests or changes to each video, after which you will be incur a flat $150 p/hr editing, mastering, compression and 'launch for streaming' charge.
- How do I update my account details?
- Just login to the system and click on the change my password link under the 'tools' section on the right of the page.
You will be asked to put in your old email then type a new one and confirm it
- How do I cancel a booking?
- Simply phone or email your local producer and we will re schedule you at our next available time. Remember there is a cancellation fee if the job is canceled within 2 hours prior to the shoot.
- Is there a cancellation fee?
- Yes there is, you will be charged a $110 late cancellation fee if the job is cancelled with 2 hours prior to the shoot commencing.
- How do I get billed?
- For property clients we work on a strict 7 day billing cycle unless other arrangements have been made. For general production work or anything other than Propvids we require a deposit of 25% to engage, 50% to commence principal photography and the balance on approval.
We do not release assets for duplication (via disc) or digital distribution (the Internet) unless all monies have been paid or unless you're a major Client with an established account.
Common Questions About Production
- What happens if it rains?
- Poor weather does not affect interior shoots. In many respects, flat light (from a gray day) is more ideal to shoot many things. We will normally shoot most interiors, and on productions bigger than 60s, return for what are called 'pick up' shots, for exterior facades and areas that need sunlight to show-off - especially swimming pools.
PlatinumHD Propvid also has extensive lifestyle footage banks.
Plus, we do 'blue sky' replacements for photographs and can often replace skies in video.
- How do I prepare for my video?
- By knowing the property and surrounding area inside out. We suggest researching an area if you are unfamiliar with it, that way you will be able to appear more relaxed on camera and fill the allocated time with the most relevant information about the property and its surroundings.
- What if my vendors are home?
- We prefer to work with only the agent or talent on location. It allows us to work more quickly and will allow the agent to present without the added pressure of an audience assessing there performance, resulting in a much better presentation.
- How big are your crews?
- Very small. We run 1 man crews for all our smaller jobs 30 and 60 second films. For 90s and above, we send out a 2 man crew. Crew size for all other productions may vary from 1 up to as many as it takes to get the job done.
- Who owns the footage?
- The vendor pays for the video and technically owns the footage to his or her home, in its mastered form, while an Agent appearing on camera technically owns his or her likeness.
We do not keep rushes (original footage) after a video has been approved. Keeping everything we shoot would be financially impossible, due to the storage costs.
PlatinumHD Propvid Australia owns all copyright to all lifestyle and all other aspects of every production, with the exception of music.
Common Questions About VidGrid
- How does the search engine work?
- You can search on anything that's in our system. Agent. Agencies. Properties, by street address or suburb, suburbs and postcodes.
The search engine is a "smart" search engine, it will give you a list of possible matches for anything you search on. On top of this its a way to find videos produced by a particular Agent or company all within one simple easy to navigate interface.
- What can I search on?
- You can search on anything we have shot videos on in our database. This includes lifestyle videos, property videos, Agent videos, Agency videos and anything we've made along the way. It is also a useful way to find a group of videos or a "channel". By entering an Agent's name, all the content we have shot on behalf of that Agent will appear.
- Sometimes the metadata/caption/subtitle text is misspelt.
- The users of our site enter the text based data so occasionally there may be a spelling mistake or grammatical error. PlatinumHD staff have full control over uploaded material and guarantee that all material is created by the company and conforms to self regulatory standards modeled on existing broadcast standards and classifications
- Podcasting
- Podcasts are a great way to distribute your digital assets over popular mobile devices and media players. We create a feed for every client and upload all videos to itunes once they are finished and live.
- What is a pod cast?
- Podcasts are a great way to distribute your digital assets over popular mobile devices and media players. We create a feed for every client and upload all videos to itunes once they are finished and live.
- How do I watch videos on mobile devices?
- Don't worry! We've gone to great lengths to ensure our site is optimized for the iPhone and iPad and other digital devices.
- How can I share my videos?
- Every video we produce has a link (which is available to you when you log in to the system). You can copy and share this link, via email. Every video has a "Share This" link directly underneath the video. You can easily share our content on all your favorite portals, blogs and social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Wordpress etc.
PlatinumHD Services
- Digital Cinematograhy
- Cinematography is the term we use to describe recording digital film or video. We use Canon 5DMII (35mm full sensor) and Canon 7D DSLR cameras, with a wide range of lenses and, as of 2010 early 2011, record sound independently using the traditional film 'clapper' board to sync sound. This give us the best quality images and the highest quality in sound recording.
The DSLR camera has revolutionized film-making. Today, these cameras are used on major motion pictures in Hollywood. 2011 will see even greater improvements in this technology.
- Photography
- Using the latest DSLR cameras, our CREWs are trained to deliver a one-stop solution to Clients, shooting digital film and also high resolution photographs. Merging these two disciplines has been a steep and equally unique learning curve however we believe this type of convergence - not just of media but of media skills - is the way of the future.
Striving to be better photographers has made us much better cinematographers along the way.
- Floor Planning
- We have an in-house floor planner on the Gold Coast, with a commercial building background.
