A social production for McLaren Gold Coast. We filmed the horses on a full-frame 100-400m Canon zoom lens, strapped to speed booster on a Panasonic GH5, rolling at 60 frames-per-second. The smaller microsensor gave us plenty more zoom. One of the problems I’ve always have in shooting outdoor events is the dirt and dust, and drunken punters, holding up portaloos. The security tape and beefy security guards keeping the public at a distance. Hardly the environment to feature a gloss sports car. So, for the social cut, we shot tight, focusing on the “beautiful people”. Footage of the horses was later projected across an LT600, in a black studio for the car review.
