Scouting For The L39 Albatros Shoot

Scouting For The L39 Albatros Shoot

Sam Yeomans checks out the cockpit. In the background, Creative Director Simon Bloomfield chats with Steve Boyd. In the foreground, Andrew Gibson contemplates the size of the server we’re going to need.

We’re prepping for an Advertising Agency shoot which will see six propellor heads, flown in from all over the world, then strapped into an L39 Albatros and blasted into the heavens at 872 km/h, in the skies above Archerfield Airfield, south of Brisbane.

To say the shoot is going to be a blast would be an understatement. We’ll be doing six flights across two days, with the L-39 covered in GARMIN 4K action cameras, plus lots of ‘turning and burning’ on the ground.

The Aero L-39 Albatros is a high-performance jet trainer designed and developed in the 60’s in Czechoslovakia by Aero Vodochody, for the Soviet forces.

Today, we’re scouting logistics and light with Producer Sam Yeomans from Play It Again Sam and Creative Director Simon Bloomfield. We’ll start shooting Sunday, July 22 and roll, pretty much, non-stop until last light on the Tuesday with http://www.fighterpilot.com
