Thirteen – Amara Residences Bulimba

Thirteen – Amara Residences Bulimba

We always try and build a storyline into our lifestyle shoots. It gives the talent something to focus on and bring their character to. For the marketing of Lewis Shaw’s $20 million AMARA residences at Bulimba – which comprise 13 luxury levels – the plot-line we worked up together is ‘…one of those days when you shouldn’t have got out of bed. A day everything goes wrong, from the spilt coffee-stained shirt to the missed ferry and stock market crash. Our hero can’t take a trick.’

Award-winning Brisbane architectural firm BVN has taken the meaning of Amara — “peaceful and eternal” — and made the 13 residences not only a place of calm to escape the hustle of the city, but also given them a timeless twist.

BVN associate Glenn Bliesner said Amara Residences design paid homage to the Queensland lifestyle while adding a new level of sophistication by creating design that was more like living in a home than an apartment. Amara Residences is a mix of two, three and four-bedroom offerings, ranging from 93sq m to 197sq m and starting from $1.99 million.

We wanted to create a story where our hero was happy to come back to the elegance and peace, after a torrid day at work.

Fortunately, Nadia Stamp had just finished Nine’s Married At First Sight so could add a little star power with local actor Vincent Gorce.
